Configure Sensitive Information Types with miniOrange DLP
Sensitive Information Types help identify sensitive data using custom detection rules and criteria. By creating custom rules, administrators can define specific patterns or keywords to detect sensitive information in data and organize these rules with tags for easier management and use across the DLP solution.
Prerequisites
There are a couple of things you need to check before you start with the setup:
- You must have the required privileges to create and configure Sensitive Information Types in the miniOrange DLP dashboard.
Step 1: Configure Sensitive Information Types
- Sign in to your DLP Admin dashboard.
- On the dashboard, navigate to the left menu panel and click Content Filtering → Sensitive Information Types.
- Click the Add Rule button to create a new custom rule for detecting sensitive information.
- In the Rule Name field, enter a unique name for the Sensitive Information Type rule.
- Under Criteria, select the required Type from the dropdown and enter the corresponding Occurrences and Criteria Value to define the conditions for detecting the sensitive information.
- Click the + icon next to Criteria to add additional criteria to the rule, if required.
- (Optional) Under Tags, click the + icon to assign tags to the rule.
- In the Select Tags window, use the Search Tags field to find the required tag.
- Expand the appropriate tag category, such as Compliance, Region, or Country, and select the required tag.
- Verify that the selected tag appears under Selected Tags.
- Click Attach Tags to associate the selected tags with the rule.
- After attaching the required tags, verify that the selected tags are displayed under Tags.
