Configure Web Applications


Apps in miniOrange PAM are high-value systems such as Kubernetes clusters, cloud services, and other critical applications that require strict privileged access controls. This section walks you through the end-to-end process of onboarding and managing apps within the PAM environment.

Follow these steps to add and manage apps effectively in miniOrange PAM.

  • Login to your PAM dashboard with relevant credentials and locate the Resources section.
  • Click on the Add Resources button and scroll down to Web Applications.
  • You can setup the web application relevant to you. In just 4 steps, you can configure any web application. Now we will configure the custom application.

  • Step 1: The general details
    • Add the app name and app type. Choose an app type from the options below.
    • SIMPLE_LOGIN Authenticate directly with a username and password on a single login page.
      LOGIN_SECOND_PAGE Enter credentials on a second page after an initial interaction.
      LOGIN_WITH_DOMAIN Authenticate using a domain-based login along with a username and password.
      LOGIN_AFTER_CLICK Requires clicking a button or link before accessing the login form.
      LOGIN_WITH_PRE_CLICK Performs an automated pre-click action before displaying the login fields.
      LOGIN_WITH_PRE_CLICK_AND_SECOND_PAGE: Combines a pre-click action and a second page.

  • Step 2: Machine Details
    • Target Machine: Specify the hostname or IP address of the machine that requires privileged access management.
    • Machine SystemUser: Define the system-level user account used by PAM to initiate and manage access on the target machine.

  • Step 3: Advance Settings
    • Login Page URL: Enter the full URL of the login page to enable authentication flow customization.
    • Form Field: Specify the HTML tag or element ID representing the login form structure.
    • Username Field: Define the name for the username input field.
    • Password Field: Set the identifier for the password input field to securely pass credentials.
    • Submit Button Field: Add the element that triggers the login request upon submission.
    • Hide Form: Enable this option to conceal the login form on the user interface for enhanced security.

  • Step 4: Web Application Credentials
    • You will be required to include system users and new credentials details here.
    • System User: Choose an existing system user from the dropdown.
    • To include new credentials, tap on the Add New Credentials button.

    • A pop-up will open where you are asked to fill in crucial details.

      • Add your system display username and system username
      • You have an option to add a password or a key
      • Enter the password and click on add
      • Add the certificate or token in text or upload the certificate. Include the passphrase and click on the add button.

  • After all the relevant details are added, click on the add button to configure the web application.

Web Application Management

Once the application is configured successfully, you can locate the specific app on the main menu.

  • You can manage the web app through the main page.
  • Locate Action and select the required option from the dropdown.
    • Action Option Overview
      Edit With the edit option, you are able to alter the details you have added in the configuration section.
      Delete Delete the selected resource from the dashboard
      Allocate You can allocate the particular resource to any user
      View Allocate You can check which users the particular resource is allocated to
