Configure Desktop Applications


The Desktop Applications section in miniOrange PAM helps you securely manage access to important apps installed on your computers, like remote desktop tools, database software, or terminal programs. This section presents how to add these apps, set up login options, and control who can use them.

Follow these steps to add and manage desktop apps effectively in miniOrange PAM.

  • Login to your PAM dashboard with relevant credentials and locate the resources section.
  • Click on the Add Resources button and scroll down to Desktop Applications.
  • In just 2 steps, you can configure any of the desktop applications. Now we will configure the custom application.


  • Step 1: General Setting
    • App Name: Enter the full name of the desktop application you want to configure in PAM.
    • Alias Name: Provide a short, friendly name to easily recognize the app within the dashboard.

  • Step 2: Machine Details
    • Target Machine: Enter the hostname or IP address of the system where the desktop application resides.
    • Machine SystemUser: Specify the system-level username that PAM will use to authenticate and manage access on the target machine.

  • Once the details are added, click on the add button to save the additions you made.
