SAP Fiori Single Sign-On SSO (SAML2) Configuration

Learn how to configure SAP Fiori Single Sign-on (SSO) integration based on SAML2 in this guide. SAP Fiori is a user interface(UI) or user experience(UX) that supports and can substitute the SAP GUI. It allows you to create business apps with a consumer-grade user experience, transforming even the most inexpereinced users into SAP experts with simple panels that operate on any device. SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) solution by miniOrange provides secure Single Sign-On access into SAP Fiori using a single set of login credentials . You can log into SAP Fiori using miniOrange credentials or Azure AD credentials or any of your existing identity providers. With miniOrange SAML SSO services, along with SAP Fiori you can also login into other On-Premise and Cloud Applications using your existing Identity Providers/User Store (Azure Active Directory, Okta, Ping) credentials. Follow the given setup guide to set up SAML2.0 SSO for your SAP Fiori instance.

miniOrange and SAP Fiori SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) integration supports the following features:

  • SP Initiated Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • IdP Initiated Single Sign-On (SSO)

Connect with External Source of Users

miniOrange provides user authentication from various external sources, which can be Directories (like ADFS, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, OpenLDAP, Google, AWS Cognito etc), Identity Providers (like Shibboleth, Ping, Okta, OneLogin, KeyCloak), Databases (like MySQL, Maria DB, PostgreSQL) and many more.

Follow the Step-by-Step Guide given below to configure SAP Fiori Single Sign-On (SSO) based on SAML2.0

Pre-requisite to configure SAM2 SSO for SAP Fiori

  • You have configured your SAP system to use HTTP security sessions. Adjust the parameters based on your organization requirements. For more information, see Activating HTTP Security Session Management on AS ABAP.
  • Activate the following SICF services:
    /sap/public/bc/sec/saml2
    /sap/public/bc/sec/cdc_ext_service

  • To get metadata values that are to be filled in the miniOrange dashboard: First create Local provider in SAP, download SAP Metadata File and then go back to miniOrange dashboard to upload the file. If you are importing Metadata File from SAP and if you are using a reverse proxy, then remember to access SAML 2.0 configuration UI via the reverse proxy URL.
